Ann-Margret, born 1941, Swedish-born artist working in the US. She was born in Jamtland as Ann-Margret Olson and moved with her family to Illinois, USA in 1946. In the beginning of the 1960's she settled in Hollywood, where she met vaudeville-veteran George Burns, who introduced her in Las Vegas.

Ann-Margret had success with the recording of "I just don't understand" and appeared in several motion pictures. Among others she starred with Elvis Presley in "Viva Las Vegas" (1963, 1964).

During later years, she has also proved that she can be convincing in more serious parts, for instance "Carnal Knowledge" (1971), where she played a model thirsting for affection.

Most of all, though, Ann-Margret is a highly regarded show-artist, well-known all over the world. Her shows are costly, spectacular stagings a la Las Vegas. She brought one of those shows to the China-Theatre in Stockholm, at its reopening in 1983, and before that, to the same theatre in 1982.
