Wild Thing | Ann-Margret

Claim to fame | Romance with Elvis Presley during and after Viva Las Vegas. Oscar nominee for Carnal Knowledge and Tommy

Movies | Viva Las Vegas, The Cincinnatti Kid, Tommy, Grumpy Old Men, Grumpier Old Men, Any Given Sunday

Best line | "The kids here have been expecting you to do something, so if you don't want to dance ’Äì sing. I know you can do that." Rusty Martin in Viva Las Vegas coaxing Elvis up on stage.

If you've seen Viva Las Vegas, you don't have to ask why she's a Scanorama favorite. If she was good enough for Elvis, she's good enough for us. Ann-Margret Olsson moved from sedate Valsjobyn in Sweden to the more suitable Chicago at age five. She was a cheerleader in high school, hit Las vegas in her late teens (as Ann-Margret), screen tested for 20th Century Fox, went on Ed Sullivan and sang for JFK in 1963. After scmoozing Elvis in Viva Las Vegas in 1964, she did two tours in Vietnam before coming into full acting bloom in the Seventies. One last reason why we love her - she broke three ribs in August 2000 when she wiped out with her motorcycle. At the free-wheeling age of 60. When was the last time your grandmother took a spin?
