Ann-Margret's brilliant triumph

What a triumph! Living legend Ann-Margret on stage was something else!

The new era of the China Theatre in Stockholm started with a bang as Ann-Margret and her fantastic show really left her audience breathless. She's called 'The Animal', and sure, she played on sex in the odd number, but what style, what grace! Also, her band and her dancers, did everything to heighten the experience.

"The show of my life", said the star after the premiere.

And Stockholmers have never seen anything like it. In the audience were the capitol's jet-set, and of course also, Roger Smith, Ann-Margret's husband and producer, and her mother Anna. Spellbound they gave the star a standing ovation after the show. For the first time, Ann-Margret was close to tears, she seemed a bit lost.

As an artist she gives everything, everything is planned, to the last detail.

After the show, Ann-Margret and her family went back to the hotel to relax, then they had dinner with all her Swedish relatives who were invited for a late night dinner at Restaurant Engelen in the Old Town. Happiest of them all, was Ann-margret, the most worried was Roger Smith, who said, "After this, She'll never perform in Las Vegas again".

But a few days later, they all left for the U.S., and the premiere of a new show, in... Las Vegas.

On stage she's sexy, but in private...
"I'm so happy in just jeans and a T-shirt"

At 40, Ann-Margret wants to dress as simply as possible. She gets enough of that sexy stuff on stage.

"I love to just dress in jeans and a simple T-shirt", she tells us. "Now that I've been in Sweden, I've bought several knitted jumpers in the Old Town, I just adore them!"

Whenever she feels the need to be 'semi-nice', she prefers functional clothes. Among her favorites are, silky dresses. They go especially well with travelling.

Normally, Ann-Margret has her hair done with a scarf over. She has thin hair, a bit diffucult to take care of, and her personal hairdresser follows her an all tours.

But, on stage or off, there's one thing Ann-Margret always has on, and that's her 'lucky ring'. An incredible 17 carat ring,, a gift from husband Roger. He gave it to her when once, she was very ill, and it symbolizes Roger's love for her.

"Back in the States, when I go shopping, I often dress in black, wear a black scarf and big sun-glasses", she says. "Just so that people won't recognize me. But they do anyway, when I open my mouth!"

Designer Yolanda Smith designs her stage clothes, and she also follows her on most tours across the globe.
